I do not regret the missed workouts, missed races or unnattained trophies. If I ever get around to building that trophy case, there will be fewer running trophies for the 1996-2006 section. However, I can fill in the gaps with the kids soccer, basketball, volleyball, boyscouts and academic awards. I'm more proud of those anyway.
I just wanted to put things in perspective for the minivan dads and moms out there. Keep on runnin though, when you can, for your sanity. Be creative, I can remember some snag-a-tooth kids asking my daughter "why is he doing that?" as I ran around and around her soccer team at Sage park back in 1996. Her response was "I dunno!", come to think of it I dunno either. I just do it!
