October 11 is a popular date for downtown activities. Another group bet us to the punch, so to speak, for reserving Bienville Square and in requesting a race permit. To secure police protection along the course and still have the race on October 11, a comprise was made for the 2008 Guns and Hoses. I hope that next year we will be able to have the race on the original course - we haven't used it yet - and we will be back to the usual 8 AM start.
