I'm pretty sure that the net decrease in elevation is only applicable in point-to-point races. If you come back to where you started, then the start and finish elevations will obviously be the same. Just thought I'd let you know so you don't waste any more valuable time or energy measuring elevations. I'm sure it has to be a pain lugging around all that surveying equipment.

...on a side note, I hear Bowie measured a course on Saturday...it was 3.1
