It would indeed be a good thing to separate the different classes. The thing that makes it hard to do is lack of volunteers. As usual this year the finish chute was undermanned. On a cold day like yesterday we didn't have enough volunteers to work one chute correctly let alone two chutes. Ideally you need 6 or 7 working the front end of the chute with another 4 or 5 working the backend of the chute. We didn't have anywhere near that number and actually as cold as it was we needed more people because our hands got so cold that we like the runners could not undo safety pins or even pull the tags off.
