I did not see or hear him until past 1.5 miles on Kenan St. I did not know who he was. I thought he might be from Murphy HS. It was a surprise. I kept the lead until we got back to South Street. He made a few moves and had a step or two on me around the campus. On Carlen we were side by side. I planned my kick at the 3 mile point. I was on the inside for the final turn and just kept it on till the line.
