I had bunion surgery several years ago, Dr. Morgan at Medical Center Poditry performed the surgery and I had good results. But it is EXTREMELY painful the first week after the surgery, he warned me but I still wasn't prepared for the intense pain when ever you moved that foot. I waited 6 months before I had my other foot done, but now I am so happy I did it. I was in my early 50's, I've heard of others a few years older having complications and not so good results. My recovery was not 6-8 months, it was only about 4 months, if I remember correctly. I'm trying to get Lu to have the surgery, but she won't budge.
