When LED (Light Emitting Diodes (red lighted numbers)) watches first came out you had to press a button to see the time (unlike LCD (Liquid Crystal Diodes?). In the Saturday Night Live routine there was a watch being manipulated by several hands touching various buttons in combination to show the various displays of the watch. This of course would be rather impractical since the average human has only one free hand if the watch is worn on a wrist. It seemed real funny back then. Those of us who remember the routine are chuckling inside.
