OK everyone....I am the somewhat anxious race director for this years Hurricane 5K!!! Mark it on your calender right now...Sept 12th Dauphin Island start time 8:10 AM.
This year we are adding something new!!! A KIDS FUN RUN. This race will start at 9 AM so you Mommy and Daddy runners can run with your babies after you complete the 5K. And what is REALLY GREAT is there will be overall and age group awards for the kids. The kids will be eligible for First 3 Overall Boy and Girl and Top 3 in age groups 10-12 7-9 6-8 3 & under, and of course first three Strollers!!! (the distance will be less than a mile and will be totally uncertified).
We are all aware that our children in this country are becoming less active and having more instances of obesity which leads to diseases such as diabetes. So please encourage all of your friends and family to bring their children to participate in the Kids Run!
I am going to be working hard to get door prizes for the adult 5K runners and for the Kids also!
If any of you have the urge to volunteer to help at Hurricane run...or family and friends...please let us know!!!
