The Heart of Champions 5K and the last mile of the HOC Kids Marathon Program will be held on Oct. 2, 2010, at the Bay Minette Community Kids Park. The 5K will begin @ 8: 00 A.M. and the last mile of the Kids Marathon Program/1 mile fun run @ 9:00 A.M. The events will benefit needy families in the North Baldwin area during Thanksgiving, Baldwin County High School Band, and the National Junior Honor Society from Bay Minette Middle School.
The awards & door prizes are plentiful (ex. HOC dry caps, marathon medals for kids completing the marathon program, and other great prizes); participates will be treated to HOT Domino's Pizza, Subway Sandwiches, fruit, snacks, & beverages.
Registration will take place @ the Kids Park off McMillan Ave. the morning of the race. Entry forms are available @ McCoy's in Mobile, Thomas Hospital Wellness Center, YMCA in Daphne, logon to active.com to register, or pre-register @ the North Baldwin Infirmary Wellness Center in Bay Minette.
The course is totally flat & USATF certified AL05034JD.
