Melanie, I asked that same question and the way it was explained to me is this:
Senior Bowl goes straight down Dauphin Street, instead of crossing over itself like ATR does, so they can start the 5K before the 10K. That way a lot of the 5K'ers are out of the way by the time most of the 10K'ers get to Ann Street.
