I've started several marathons with a kitchen size garbage bag over my upper torso. You must remember to cut a hole in the top for your head. It also helps to have 2 holes for your arms to stick out. All kidding aside, it will keep the heat in until you begin to really build up heat. I usually rip a hole in it after a while to allow my body to adjust to the cold then just take the whole thing off and drop it in or near a garbage can. 40 to 50 degrees is perfect weather to me for the marathon distance. Congrats again to all the Marine Corp folks.
