Being a newbie to the race and foreign (came from England) the merge of 5ks into the path of the 10k runners confused the hell out of me. I was planning to sprint that last stretch but it was just impossible. In the end my chip time was 44.45 but I know I could have shaved quite a few seconds off that.
I was absolutely drenched at the finish (I told a friend I compared it to walking in torrential rain) due to the humidity. When I left England on Wednesday it was 50f with no humidity :)
Thoroughly enjoyed the day though and as Victor said 'Chik-fil-a were yummy'.
