Not sure how to get my daughter started

Can someone point me in the right direction where to get my daughter started in track.
She is eight and we did go today for the first track session for Spring with Mobile's Parks and Recreation but not enough people registered so they are not having it, until more register.
She is eager to learn the techniques and wants to compete but I am really not sure who offers this for youth.
