A while back I had the great pleasure of reading a book named, "Born to Run." The real life main character of the story was an ultra-marathon legend, Micah True, nick-named Caballo Blanco. The plot involved the discovery of a mysterious tribe of Indians in New Mexico who were reputed to be fantastic long distance runners. As the story unfolds, a race is set up between world elite ultra runners and some of these Indian runners out in the New Mexico wilderness. Micah True was a central figure in this, and among other achievements was the race director for the Copper Canyon Ultra. I just found out today that his body was found after he had gone on a trail run in New Mexico, and had not returned. No foul play initially found. Just thought I would write my respects to a running legend.
