The Gator Chase 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run will be held on Saturday on the Causeway.
The 5K starts at 8 a.m. and the fun run at 9 at Meaher State Park.
The event benefits the Spanish Fort Education Enrichment Foundation, which helps provide expanded educational opportunities for Spanish Fort students.
Runners can register at McCoy Outdoor and Run-N-Tri in Mobile, Running Wild in Fairhope and any Spanish Fort school until noon Wednesday. Runners can register online until midnight Wednesday. Race-day registration will be held from 7 to 7:45 a.m. at the race site.
Food and beverages will be provided after the race.
The One Step at a Time 5K Run/Walk is set for 8 a.m. Sunday. It will be headquartered at the Bluegill Restaurant on the Causeway.
The event benefits the Shoulder, a Christian non-profit treatment center for those suffering through substance abuse. It was organized by Barry Johnson Parker in memory of Murray Johnson King.
Runners can register at McCoy Outdoor and Run-N-Tri in Mobile and Running Wild in Fairhope until noon Thursday. Runners can register online until midnight Thursday. Race-day registration will be held from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. at the race site.
After the race, food and beverages will be provided, and there'll be music.
