Hey, I'm hoping someone out there can help solve a mystery: My son finished the 5k believing he was the first across the line. He led after the first mile and followed the police escort all the way to the end. He didn't see any other runners ahead of him until the elite 10k-ers once the two courses merged. When the results were posted in the lobby, his name was first. But at the awards, Craig Rockwell was announced as the winner. I contacted the race director on Saturday who said that Craig's chip was detected at the start and finish, about a minute ahead of Matt (my son). Adding to the confusion is the fact that in the race photos by Myshotz, there are no photos of a 5k finisher ahead of Matt. There are 14 photos of Matt finishing, and none of Craig. So, we are a little confused. Matt has run many races and should have been able to see another runner ahead of him. Does anyone out there know Craig? Did anyone see the 5k finish? We would have paid more attention to the video after the race had we known this was going to be an issue. If Craig did come in first, then that's great--but something seems a little strange. Thanks everyone!
