The Lions Club Tunnel Vision 5K brings some variety to the running lineup this week as a point-to-point race instead of a loop and also by passing through the Bankhead Tunnel.

The race starts at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Ben May Mobile Public Library on Government Street. It finishes at Tacky Jacks on Battleship Parkway.

The race is organized by the Lions Club of Mobile, and all proceeds go toward the sight projects that it supports.

Runners can register at McCoy Outdoor and Run-N-Tri in Mobile and Running Wild in Fairhope until noon Thursday and online until midnight Thursday. Early packet pickup and late registration will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Tacky Jacks. Race-day registration will be held from 6:15 to 7:30 a.m. at USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park and at the Ben May Mobile Public Library.

Shuttle buses will be available to take participants from Battleship Park to the library and from Tacky Jacks to Battleship Park on Saturday. Shuttles will start leaving Battleship Park at 6 a.m. Saturday.

Food, beverages, awards and music will be part of the postrace party.

The Blessing of the Fleet 4-Miler will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Bayou La Batre.

Organized by the South Mobile County Tourism Authority, the event, which also includes a 1-mile fun run, benefits Bayou La Batre.

Runners can register online through midnight Thursday.

Food, beverages, arts and crafts and entertainment will be part of the postrace party, and runners are invited to stay for the 64th annual Blessing of the Fleet.
