The Chickasabogue Park 2-Miler starts at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Eight Mile.

The annual race kicks off the Port City Pacers' 2013-14 season.

Runners can register online until midnight today. Race-day registration will be held Chickasabogue Park from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.

The postrace cookout will include the Port City Pacers' Grand Prix and Corporate Awards Celebration.

Race organizers advise participants to bring insect repellent.

The Catch Me If You Can 5K Run will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday at Fairchild Park in Pensacola. The race is a pursuit race. Runners grouped by age and gender will be sent off every 30 seconds. The first person across the finish line is the winner.

Proceeds from the race benefit Kelly Gordon's transition to independent living from a rehabilitation facility. Gordon was struck with transverse myelitis.

Runners can register online through Thursday. Race-day registration will be held from 7 to 7:45 p.m. at Fairchild Park.

The SEC BeachFest 5K starts at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Gulf Shores Public Library. A 1-mile fun run for youngsters 18 years old and younger (and waffle breakfast) starts at 9.

Entry into the race comes with a pass for the SEC BeachFest, which will be held Thursday through Sunday in Gulf Shores.

Runners can purchase BeachFest passes online. Race-day registration will be held from 6 to 7:30 a.m. at the Gulf Shores Public Library.
