The Gator Chase 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, at Meaher State Park, with the 5K starting at 8 a.m. and the fun run following at 9.

Organized by the Spanish Fort Education Enrichment Foundation, the event benefits SFEEF projects.

Runners can register at any Spanish Fort school, McCoy Outdoor and Run-N-Tri in Mobile and Running Wild in Fairhope until noon Wednesday or online until midnight Friday. Race-day registration will be held from 7 to 7:45 a.m. at the Meaher State Park.

Food and beverages will be provided after the race.

The Hammerin' for Habitat 5K Fun Run and Walk will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday at the intramural fields at the University of South Alabama.

The event benefits Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Alabama.

Runners can register at McCoy Outdoor and Run-N-Tri in Mobile until noon Friday or online until 2 p.m. Friday.

The sixth annual Chilly Run will be held Saturday at Community Kids Park in Bay Minette, with the 5K starting at 9 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run following at 10.

Organized by the Bay Minette Rotary Club, the event benefits the North Baldwin Coalition for Excellence in Education.

Applications for entry are available at the North Baldwin Fitness Center, Bay Minette City Hall, from Rotary Club members and by emailing Karmen Still at Karmen@sfmco.com. Runners also can register online.

The Gulf Coast Half Marathon Series kicks off its 2014 season in Gulf Shores at 8 a.m. Sunday at LuLu's at Homeport. Other events will follow in Pensacola and Mandeville, La.

The Post-Race Party fueled by Landshark Lager will be held at LuLu's at Homeport.

The Gulf Coast 2014 Great Amazing Race, a family oriented footrace based on the TV series "The Amazing Race," will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Langan Park in Mobile.

Teams of two (adults and children in kindergarten through 12th grade) race around a mile-long course with up to eight stations. Clues provided at each station direct teams to perform tasks or complete obstacle courses that focus on teamwork in order to advance to the next station. The race is limited to 120 teams.
