The Funky Monkey 5K and Fun Run will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 8, on the intramural fields at the University of South Alabama. The fun run will cover three-quarters of a mile.
The event benefits the Thompson Holdings Foundation.
Runners can register at McCoy Outdoor and Run-N-Tri in Mobile and Running Wild in Fairhope until noon Thursday or online until midnight Thursday. Race-day registration will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. at the SGA Pavilion.
The post-race party will feature Mobile's biggest banana split.
The Colors of Cancer 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday on the intramural fields at the University of South Alabama. The fun run will cover three-quarters of a mile.
Organized by Exalte Magazine, the event benefits Camp Bluebird and Camp Rap-A-Hope.
Organizers encourage runners to dress in their favorite glow attire and be prepared to dance after the race.

The St. Patrick's Leprechaun Chase will be held at 8 a.m. Sunday at St. Patrick's School in Robertsdale. The event features 10K, 5K and 2-mile runs.
