I think it's a very bad idea to try to run the whole thing--or to even to try to do a lot of it running. You haven't done the work to strngthen your muscles and joint for that much trauma. I think you should have no problem walking it though, especially if you're not too concerned about the time--you've been walking your whole life. If you're relatively fit you should be able to walk under 15:00 miles and that'll put you in around 6.5 hours. Nobody is going to care about your time--every finisher is a winner and everybody gets the same medal. If you feel you need to tell people you ran the marathon, run the first and last miles and walk the rest. Then you can tell everyone you ran the whole thing except for on walk break in the middle. Works like a charm.
