My advice would be that if you've worn the new shoes a time or two and aren't having any particular problems like blisters, hot spots, or anything noticably uncomfortable, it would probably be OK to wear them for the race tomorrow.

If you haven't worn them at all but have had that same model before, it would still probably be OK because it's just a new pair of shoes, not an entirely new model (I have done this before with no problems but never for a race longer than 10k). You're taking a small risk of blisters though if the shoes are brand-spanking, never-been-worn-at-all new. Shoes do seem to soften up after being worn a few times.

If it's a new model of shoe you havent' worn before, I'd suggest leaving them home and wear the old, worn out, but familiar shoes. Try the new ones out on a short run next week after you've recovered from the race.
