The race had a 2 mile and a 1 mile last year. We chose to go with a single fun run for several reasons. The primary reasons were safety and logistics. George Street and Church Street are much narrower than the rest of the course narrow and there are over 4000 participants in this race. It becomes very congested and with some people running and some walking it had become somewhat hazardous. Also by not going up to George Street, it is easier to handle the race in many respects. I cannot speak for everyone involved, but from a course marshalling standpoint, it went very well.
