One point though - Ben - it's not a race. There will be no awards, no prizes, no results list, no times. Bike racing is a little more aggressive and dangerous than running so races are usually organized and held by licensing bodies such as the USCF (United States Cycling Federation). Rides are tailored more towards having a good time than a fast time. Make sense? ;) So feel free to stop and chat at the rest stops.
That's not to say that there won't be people there who will be racing but it's not a race, it's a ride. :)
