get jiggy wit it. You crunch numbers, that's what you do. I do agree with Mo though. It is arbitrary. The world record holder at 50 years old for a given distance may not have even been in the top 5% during his prime. Some athletes have short explosive peaks (sacrificing longevity), others have extended less dynamic peaks. So how can you say where your best now compares to the best 20 years your junior. There are toooooooo many variables involved.

So go ahead and crunch numbers, that's what you do. I just wouldn't get too "ANALytical". The important thing is to keep using the same formula (or data), if you are measuring or charting your own progress.
