Having done all my training runs outside in the heat and many of them the afternoon heat... I can honestly say if was freakin hot/humid in Chicago. The temps according to banks etc along the route had it any where from 95 to 97 combined with 90% humidity. That being said I know I would have been very upset had they pulled me off the course. But I also agree with the Leif... my sister helped a girl off the course while the girl was both insisting that she was going to finish/turning white and passing out. It was a tough call for the race director.
