The dues are for a year from the time you sign up, so it's 6 one way, half dozen the other. I'd recommend getting the application in by August where you'll be able to read the follow ups to the races and see the race calendar for 05-06. Calendar's not set but my guess is the season starts at Crime Prevention in late August.
I think you'll be glad you signed up. You'll see the names of the other folks you run with in the Paceletter and be able to relate to your age group and the other regulars. Hey, you may get caught up in the Grand Prix points and get really competitive. Welcome aboard.
