My computer crashed twice while composing this response and I just realized I left something out that I wanted to share.

When I’m stuck in a rut at work doing tasks I don’t like (like paperwork), I find that I get hungry all the time. I make frequent trips to the candy machine and have gained as much as 4-6 pounds over a two week period when the drudgery lasts that long. I tried leaving all my money at home and only taking in only healtier snacks (nuts, beef jerky, fruit, etc . . .) but I ate all the snacks and still gained the weight.

I’ve concluded that these hunger pangs are not really hunger because this only happens when my work is uninteresting and because I gain weight rapidly during these periods; which shows that I really didn’t need the calories in spite of what my appetite was telling me.
