I was an athletic supporter this April, watching some friends (too numerous to list) finish the Boston Marathon. One of the highlights was meeting Kathrine Switzer, who was at Bill Rodgers running store in Boston, promoting her new book, "Marathon Woman". For those who need a refresher, Kathrine ran her first marathon, Boston, in 1967 at twenty years old and had a race official try and pull her off the course (no broads allowed!). Anyway.....I am reading her memoir and it is an amazing tribute to the sport of running and completing a marathon in general. I think we should all lobby the Pacers to bring Kathrine Switzer to Mobile for ATR 2008! Whaddaya think? Anyone else reading her book?
