The Grand Prix is a competition open only to paid-up PCP members. The age divisions are as follows (women and men have a separate competition):
| Division | Ages | Places |
| Youth | 0 - 12 | 4 |
| Teens | 13 - 15 | 4 |
| Open | 16 - 39 | 12 |
| Masters | 40 - 49 | 10 |
| Grandmasters | 50 - 59 | 10 |
| Seniors | 60 - 69 | 10 |
| Legends | 70 and up | 4 |
| Race Walkers | all ages | 4 |
Your age division is determined by your age on the day of the first race of the season.
Points are scored inversely to finish. For example, the first open finisher in a Grand Prix race gets 12 points, second gets 11, and so on down to twelfth, who gets 1 point. Points scored in all Grand Prix races are added up to get the Final Grand Prix Standings. Awards are given out at our
Annual Pacer Cookout after the Chickasabogue 2 Miler at Chickasabogue Park, the second Tuesday in August. The top 50% in each division will receive awards. You must must have scored in at least three Grand Prix Races to be eligible for an award.
If you think that your score for a Grand Prix event is incorrect and you would like to contest it, then you must appeal within 28 days after the results of that event appear on this web site. Otherwise the results are final.
Starting with the 2010-2011 season, all Pacer races will be scored for the Grand Prix.
The Azalea Trail Run is now a Grand Prix Race and it is also used to settle ties for first place in the Final Grand Prix Standings. For instance, in 2000/2001 Joey Warner and Ron Goodwin tied for first place in the Male Open. Since Joey finished ahead of Ron in the ATR, Joey was the winner of the Open Division.
Please note that there is no relationship between the Corporate Cup (which is not conducted by the Pacers) and the Grand Prix.
If you have any questions about the rules or about the results, please contact Grand Prix Questions.
