Yeah, I only recall 1 other race being cancelled. It was the Sandman Triathlon. Only some tropical storm coming in "Lilly" I believe it was named. About 30 of us managed to be at the start line at that one prior to it being called due to weather. The best part about that one was the fact that the trophies were given out as door prizes, the beer was still there to be 'taken care of', and of course, pizza. Interesting twist to the event.
By the way, when I said "I understand", I was meaning that it is always a tough call to be made by race organizers to call an event. As a race director myself, I do understand what sometimes that call has to be made. So, good call.
