that's all we can do right. I think that a coach is beneficial to some folks. If a person does not have time to do the research that you speak of then the coach fills that void. A coach can give you that assurance that you are or will make progress no matter how slow things may be going. A coach can also keep you from overdoing it when you hit those plateaus in training programs and it SEEMS that you are not doing enough.

Plantar problems that I have had in the past have been remedied by 20 minutes (no more time than that in one sitting) per night, both feet, in a bucket of ice water over the ankle. It helps with those ankle aches due to high mileage for me also.
