I am a CD sufferer as well. I sometimes, (often when trying to run fast like in races)get a very significant calf pain that can take as long as 6 weeks to go away. This can be so painfull as to curtail running. The only thing that helps seems to be very aggressive massage (read: painful) with stretching and stregthening (stair stretching and toe raisers among other things). There is an excellent book called The Lore of Running, by Dr. Tim Noakes that has a good description and treatment of this. If you haven't bought this book, I heartily recommend it as it covers everything Running.

Good luck and I'll see you on Saturday, and actually I have a booth this year so come by and see me.
