Leonard, What prompted me is the fact that I am a runner and have been one for 31 years. The love of the sport, sense of accomplishment, delight at seeing a new runner complete their first race, fellowship with other runners, promotion of a healthy life style in the community where I reside are a few more of my reasons.
I have run races all over this country from New York City to Grand Coley Washington and I have never been concerned with what charity benifited.
I have participated in many events where my running was not competative, it was strictly for charity ie; March of Dimes and Relay for Life.
I have never had a discussion about what races to run with another runner where our participation would be determined by what charity was supported.
Sooooooo, I guess bottom line is; we all have our opinion.....and you know what they say about them!!!!
