First....I am NOT offended!
I was the 2009 Race Director for the Hurricane Run. It was not difficult to MAKE money on the event, not just break even. It takes interest, effort, professionalism and a high standard placed on ones achievements.
As to the invited runners....this is another one of those things that has never entered my decision making regarding choice of race to run.(see my post to Leonard)
The Kenyans and Ethopians are fun to watch (I have spectated also) but when I am running the race...I don't know if they are there or not.
I don't know what the answer is, but I do feel good communication and some young and new ideas interjected into local events could make a tremendous difference......you might want to consider volunteering!!
