I also support the volunteer idea. I believe the Pensacola Runners Association has a requirement for their Grand Prix that to be eligible for a GP award, a runner must work an assignment that precludes running for one race per season. I believe it must be a race during the current season. As Leon points out though, it would be more paperwork as it would require some sort of sign-up sheet that someone would have enter into a computer program or spreadsheet.
