My memory is intact and AOK. I remember discussing running a marathon WITH you, not AGAINST you ("mopping the streets of Mobile with you"-NOT). The marathon course and a clock is enough of a challenge for me. I run marathons "with" other runners. I don't need to worry about kicking anybody's butt in a marathon. I usually have a time goal in mind. I'm so delirious by the end of a marathon that I can't remember who was in front of or behind me anyway. "Butt kicking" or "mopping the streets" is for shorter races when I can still think and talk after the race.
