Back in the olden days, I had a biology teacher tell me as a "general" rule, "If it consumes other living things (animal or vegetable) to live, it is almost certainly an animal". Plants are producers, animals are consumers. Lynn would be an example of an animal, she consumes alot. She also talks alot, that would put her in the class- Oratemus Maximus.

PS Please don't start listing a bunch of exceptions to the above rule. I said that it was a general rule. Venus fly trap would be an example of an exception.
