Brian Murray won the Joe Cain 5K road race as he broke the course record
with a winning time of 15 minutes, 10 seconds in downtown Mobile Sunday. Wyman Hamilton was second in 16:10 followed by Justin Parker in 16:35.
Amy Huff was the first female in 19:18 followed by Laurie Repoll in 21:04
and Jessie Moore in 21:21.
Roy Duncan won the male masters in 17:50. Paul Bergman won the
grandmasters in 18:59 and Dave Jeffrey won the senior grandmasters in 18:50.
Lisa Wood won the female masters in 22:36. Martha Jasperson won the
grandmasters in24:45 and Phyllis Logsdon won the senior grandmasters in 29:58.
Floyd Coleman won the male clydesdale division in 25:06 and Jennifer Smith
won the female Athena division in 26:18.
More than 700 runners/walkers participated in the event that was produced
by the Bay Area Runners. The Port City Pacers running club will conduct the
Battle of Mobile Bay 5K February 12 at 9 a.m. on Dauphin Island.
