In lieu of all the gauntlets flying around, and in an attempt to make this season resemble a game of Magic: The Gathering as much as possible, I humbly wish to place a request for a couple changes at the local races this year.
Change #1: Instead of race numbers, I think each runner should be required to display their current age on both their chest and back. With this year's transition to the Age Graded Table System (AGTS 2008), this change has the potential to prevent numerous injuries by keeping our fragile elder runners from needlessly attempting to outkick anyone younger than them at the finish, since the older runner has already won by way of the horseshoe rule.
Change #2: It should be the duty of the race director to provide every race member with a watch that displays their current AGTS 2008 score (as a percentile 0-100 rounded of to the thousandth) instead of their time. This change would allow for the runners to fill out their score cards without the use of an excel spreadsheet.
