Having grown up on a professor's salary (my Dad), I'd suggest Chickasaw or Saraland. We live in Chickasaw. When we transferred down here, a lot of my colleagues thought I was out of my mind when I told them we didn't move to West Mobile or Baldwin county but, after looking around, we decided we'd get a lot more for our money in Chickasaw. It's about 10 miles to Spring Hill College (about 15 min. in traffic). Plus, it has miles and miles of quiet streets for running. I have loops as big as 5 miles in our neighborhood that are entirely on quiet residential roads . . .
