We (some Bombers) were discussing this situation with the Gran Prix last week. We agreed that it had to be a late addition and therefore against the rules. I personally am happy to hear it is not a GP race because I just received my application for the Juneteenth race in Prichard which is on the same day (June 17). I have supported the Juneteenth race in the past and would like to continue to do so. Maybe the Pacers could get with the Prichard City Council for next years Juneteenth celebration to avoid a conflict.
